PRIMERA SESIÓN DEL INSTITUTO INTERNACIONAL DE ARTIVISMO HANNAH ARENDT

COMUNICADO DE PRENSA # 10 / ARTIVISMO Y EST-ética

Lectura, análisis y discusión colectiva e ininterrumpida de un texto de Hannah Arendt será la primera sesión del proceso fundacional del Instituto Internacional de Artivismo “Hannah Arendt". El evento comenzará el 20 demayo de 2015 a partir de las 10:00 a.m. y tendrá una duración aproximada de 100horas consecutivas. Las puertas del espacio donde fungirá la sede del Instituto estarán abiertas a todo tipo de público y a toda hora hasta que se complete la lectura del libro de Hannah Arendt.

El Instituto Internacional de Artivismo, ante la actual crisis de representación en las artes y la aspiración del activismo a ser efectivo en la sociedad, se propone aportar una plataforma desde la cual se puedan llevar a cabo investigaciones en el orden teórico-práctico para un arte socialmente comprometido y para un momento político determinado.

El proyecto del Instituto, que aspira a contribuir al entendimiento del rol que juega y la eficacia que tiene el arte como agente de cambio social, consta de varios laboratorios en las siguientes áreas:

 Arte Útil - Investigación del arte como instrumento de transformación social

 Arte de Conducta - Investigación del comportamiento como herramienta de comunicación

 Artes Aplicadas - Prácticas artísticas vinculadas a otros campos del saber

 EST-ética - Investigación y práctica sobre la interpelación entre la estética y la ética en proyectos socio-culturales

Esta acción se celebra el 20 de mayo, Aniversario de la República de Cuba.

FIRST WORKING SESSION OF HANNAH ARENDT’s INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ARTIVISM

COMUNICADO DE PRENSA # 10 / ARTIVISM AND AEST-ethics 

 

The uninterrupted collective reading and discussion of a text by Hannah Arendt would be the first session of the foundational process of the Hannah Arendt International Institute of Artivism. The event begins on May 20, 2015 at 10:00am. The doors of the space will be open to all and at any hour until the reading of Hannah Arendt’s book is finished (approximately 100 consecutive hours) after which there will be a public action.

Hannah Arendt’s International Institute for Artivism responds to the current crisis of representation in the arts and the desire for activism to be effective in society, and proposes to bring a platform for research on the theoretical and practical applications of socially engaged art for a specific political moment.

The project of the Institute, which aims to contribute to the understanding of the role and effectiveness that art has as an agent of social change, has several laboratories in the following areas:

 Arte Útil (Useful Art) – Artistic Research as an instrument of social transformation

 Arte de Conducta (Behavioural Art) - Research on how behavior is used as a communication tool

 Applied Arts - Artistic practices related to other fields of knowledge

 AEST-ethics - Research and Practice on the interpellation between aesthetics and ethics in socio-cultural projects

This action takes place on May 20th, Anniversary the Republic of Cuba.
